Since returning home after organising my Dad's funeral, I have been very busy catching up on office work and getting to grips with the process of being an executor. But I've still found a little time for some more decluttering....I'm not able to be as focussed right now as I was in the first half of last month, but I am decluttering different things as I am aware of a need we can help supply, or as something comes to my attention. So the plan for the rest of this month is to continue this way; declutter groups of items as possible. Then on the 1st of September, I'm going to pick up the Decluttering Game again in full.
One daughter had a clean out, and when I went through the things she didn't need, I found 24 items of clothing to give away, and about 100 pieces of fabric to give away. Another daughter had a bag of extra clothes stored away; we went through it together, and she identified 14 items of clothing to pass on to others. |
I also threw out a dead herb plant, some expired seaweed sheets, a blender that leaks, and 2 bottles of fizz that have been sitting here. I pulled a cake tin from the cupboard and filled it with goodies to send as a birthday gift, and I tossed out a mug with a crack in it.
So that's 195 items given away or tossed in the last few days. Added to the decluttering from last month, this brings the total tossed so far to 1216 items.
